Third Extra Credit Book: Zimmermann's "First Great Triumph"

The third (and final) extra credit book is by Warren Zimmerman, titled "First Great Triumph: How Five Americans Made Their Country A World Power" (Amazon Link).

This is history, and tells the story of how in a few short years the US moved from being a small, backward country to having colonies and economic and military power to rival the other states of the world. It's been written up in many places, and is supposed to be pretty good.

We'll get together to talk about it in early December.
